In August of 2002, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I immediately started working full-time alongside my father at Vogel Construction and Repair, Inc. Vogel Construction and Repair, Inc. was a construction company that primarily specialized in fire and water restoration for insurance companies. We participated in the PSP program (Preferred Service Provider) for State Farm Insurance. I built my first house in 2002 doing the majority of the work myself.

In 2004, my father gave me a small ownership stake in Vogel Construction and Repair, Inc. At that time, we were trying to get more involved in the general contracting business outside of insurance repairs. In 2004, 2005, and 2006, we built a new veterinarian clinic and multiple houses on the south side of Lincoln. We also started specializing in commercial finish carpentry installations.

In 2006, I took full ownership of Vogel Construction and Repair, Inc. In 2007, 2008, and 2009, we continued to do work both commercially and residentially. We continued to build houses occasionally but focused on the commercial finish carpentry projects. Our biggest contract in 2008-2009 was the finish carpentry portion of the new OB Tower at Bryan East Campus. We built this concurrently with other projects.

In 2014, my passion for self-employment continued to burn inside of me, so I established Avacon, Inc. My family is important to me, and the name comes from my daughter Ava and my son Conner. Unfortunately, our son Bennett was not born yet and did not get any naming rights! We were blessed to have a handful of clients that welcomed the idea of building my business while working at another company.

I have been around the construction industry most of my life. My goal is to create long-lasting business relationships well into the future. I would be happy to give you the names and references of those who I have worked with over the years.
